Woodrow Wilson is lucky to partner with 2-time Super Bowl champion (and New Brunswick High School graduate) Jonathan Casillas.  Jonathan was a former student of Woodrow’s School Counselor, Mrs. Lazovick.  Mrs. Lazovick and Jonathan worked together for years (throughout high school, college, and beyond) to better New Brunswick.  Jonathan’s commitment to helping younger students in New Brunswick became even more evident when he created the Jonathan Casillas Forward Progress Football Camp.  This football and life skills camp takes place every June and is free for children residing in New Brunswick.  But, Jonathan did not want to wait until June this past year to help Woodrow and Mrs. Lazovick.  Even though he was busy getting ready for another season with the NY Giants, Jonathan wanted to be part of Woodrow Wilson’s Read Across America celebration.  He traveled to all the grades, reading Dr. Seuss books and sharing life lessons and words of wisdom.  Jonathan’s impact on Woodrow Wilson students continued throughout the year as Mrs. Lazovick helped reinforce Jonathan’s message and distribute items from Jonathan and the NY Giants.  Jonathan Casillas is a model of hard work and perseverance and Woodrow Wilson looks forward to his continued involvement and return visits this year and beyond!
